Property settings, export and removal

Manage your property's name, type, language, timezone, check-in and check-out times, download a full backup, or remove a property.

The Settings page holds all the core details for your active property. If you manage multiple locations, make sure you pick the right one from the property menu before making changes.

What you can set

  • Name: the title your guests see across screens and links.
  • Type: the category of place, such as a whole house, apartment, B&B, or hotel.
  • Default guide language: the language used for built-in headings, buttons, and helper text.
  • Timezone: ensures that checkout times and expiring links calculate correctly. Bienvue cannot publish your guide without a timezone.
  • Check-in and Check-out: the arrival and departure times for your guests. The departure time also appears on your Checkout card.
  • Rooms, for a hotel: configured on the Billing page because room counts determine your subscription tier. See Hotels and rooms.

After updating these fields, select Save settings, then publish so your screens update.

Download a backup

Clicking Export data downloads an entire archive of your guide, including settings, custom theme colors, cards, and full-resolution photos. Because this file contains sensitive details like Wi-Fi passwords and door access codes, store it in a secure location. Only owners and admins can run an export, and Bienvue may ask you to verify your identity before downloading.

Remove a property

Owners and admins can remove a property directly from Settings. As a safety check, you must type the property's exact name to confirm:

  • On a paid plan, the property is archived immediately and kept safe for two months, giving you plenty of time to restore it if you change your mind. During this time, guests see a resting screen rather than your guide. Billing stops at your next renewal date, though the current period is not refunded. Check out Archived properties.
  • Deleted permanently: if you do not want to wait two months, head to the archived property page and choose Delete permanently. This wipes out all cards, photos, and settings immediately, and the action cannot be undone.

Whenever a property is removed, any paired TVs reset to their pairing screen. Those screens remain reserved to your account for 30 days, which prevents anyone else from claiming them while letting you pair them again whenever you are ready.

If it doesn't work

  • "Only an owner or admin can …": reach out to an owner or admin on your team to make this change. See Roles.
  • "Type … exactly to delete it": double-check your spelling, spaces, and capital letters, because the name must match word for word.
